This is not going to be a deep and meaningful blog but a quick synopsis on my week in Florida.
For a start my destination, Orlando is known for only one thing…Disneyland, and who would have guessed it, I did not even see the place or anything remotely Disney like.
Instead I spent my time in fairyland, a home within the city limits that felt like an island in the Bahamas. Settled within Orange groves and with its own beach onto a lake it was a piece of heaven. Warm weather, friendly Aligators and lots of delicious American wines (drinks start really early there!).
The Americans really do leave you with a new lease of life. They love to shop and everyone has help, even the cleaners have someone to help clean their own houses (note David Cameron). The thing is, that they take cleaning seriously. It is not a job for idiots it is a skill and also who likes cleaning their own house? I would much rather clean someone else’s house and get paid, then get someone to clean my own!
The weather was great, manicures were cheap and even though there was a huge amount of Botox, Liposuction, Boob implants, I didn’t feel ugly or too wrinkly and even when my friend kindly suggested that a bit of ‘nip and tuck’ might make me look 10 years younger, I declined adding that I had a needle phobia and she kindly dropped the subject!
