Frequently Asked Questions
Why is the Company named Ella?
Ella, my Norwegian Grandmother left me the original Kitchen Cabinet and it was my daughter Ella, (named after her grandmother) that used the Cabinet with me whenever we cooked together.
Why did I start Ella's Kitchen Company?
I had just moved to Shropshire with our 3 young children and began giving cookery lessons from my home. Integral to the fun of these cooking lessons was my Norwegian Kitchen Cabinet.
The children queued up to use it and at the end of the lesson would beg me to convince their parents to have these cabinets in their own homes- and it made me think... why not start making them.
How long did it take?
After 18 months my first 12 scoop storage cabinet was made. This space saving, child friendly, convenient, kitchen spice and dry food storage cabinet was at last in production. I have stayed faithful to the manufacturing process that will make Ella's Kitchen Cabinet an heirloom and is built to last with the wooden cabinet made from FSC woods by local Shropshire craftsmen and the components in Northern Europe.
Will my kitchen Cabinet look good in a modern kitchen, yes this is in a House in Sydney.

Paint Colours
We use 'Little Greene Paint Company' for our paints.
The stock colours are Norwegian Blue, Antique White, Stone,
We have also started a bespoke service to match your AGA colour. At a small added cost of £25 per item the cabinet can be painted to match your AGA. If you would like your own colour we are happy to match the paint. Your paint colour would be an added cost.

The front panel of the scoop is 110 wide x 140 high with a transparent front panel and label holder.
For the forseeable future all bottle lids will be plain.

It is not suitable for biscuits or cereals unless they are being used very frequently.

Top Tip
Using flowers in Food
This is the season when there are several plants in the garden whose flowers you can safely use in food.
A new one for me is the Chive Flower, that gorgeous purple flower. Tear the flower gently appart and use as a garnish in Soups, or in a salad.
The old favourites of course are Borage (often in drinks) and Nasturtiums in anything from Salads to chicken dishes.
